A User's Guide to Setting Password Strength for WHM and cPanel

Learn how to enhance password security for WHM and cPanel users in this guide. For users relying on passwords for login, server security is paramount. Strengthening password authentication is crucial for a secure server login. WHM/cPanel administrators have the ability to set password complexity for their users. 

Follow these steps to enhance password security: 

  1. Log in to WHM.

  1. Select "Security Center" from the navigation menu.

  1. Choose "Password Strength Configuration" from the menu.

  1. Define the default password strength for your entire hosting account by entering the numerical value.

  2. You have the option to either set the password to its default value or customize it according to your requirements using the horizontal scrolling button.

  3. Alternatively, you can directly input the numerical password strength in the provided box. 

  4. Afterward, click the "Save" button.
